About the Merit Badge

The Stargaze on a Quilt Badge combines the joys of quilting with the appreciation of astronomy. Requirements

• Learn basic astronomy, including how to identify at least five constellations and the stories behind them.
• Create a small quilt or use an existing one that can be easily transported for outdoor activities.
• Plan and participate in a stargazing event, bringing the quilt along to use during the observation.
• Document the stargazing experience with photos or drawings of the constellations observed.
