About the Merit Badge

The Quilting Bee Badge celebrates the community spirit of quilting and the tradition of working together to create beautiful, meaningful quilts. This badge encourages Scouts to participate in collaborative quilting efforts, develop teamwork skills, and experience the joy of creating something greater than any individual could achieve alone.

Requirements

• Participate in a quilting bee, either in-person or virtually, that involves two or more people working on the same quilt or quilting project. If there isn’t a quilting bee to join, organize one by inviting fellow quilters to contribute to a communal quilt.
• Make at least one quilt block that will be added to a larger collaborative quilt project. The block can be a design of your choice but must align with the theme or instructions given by the group.
• Bonus: Contribute the group quilt or another project to a charity or community organization in need. This could be a local shelter, hospital, or any group that benefits from handmade quilts.
