About the Merit Badge

The Quilts of Valor badge recognizes the generosity and artistry of quilters who contribute to the Quilts of Valor Foundation. This badge celebrates the creation of quilts to honor and comfort service members and veterans who have served our country, providing a tangible expression of gratitude and support.

Requirements

• Make a Quilt for a Service Member or Veteran: Create a quilt that meets the guidelines set by the Quilts of Valor Foundation. The quilt must be completed and either donated or gifted to an eligible recipient.
• Follow the Specifications: Ensure your quilt meets the organization’s requirements, including size, fabric quality, and design standards.
• Document Your Quilt: Record the following details in your logbook:
  • The inspiration behind your quilt design.
  • Any special techniques or patterns you used.
  • The name of the recipient (if known) to whom you donated the quilt.
• Reflect on Your Experience: Write a brief note about what this project meant to you and why contributing to this cause was important.
