About the Merit Badge

The Quilting Podcast Badge encourages scouts to engage with the broader quilting community through the medium of podcasts. This badge aims to enhance their understanding of quilting culture, history, techniques, and trends by listening to experienced quilters and industry experts share their insights and stories.

Requirements

• Research and compile a list of at least five quilting-related podcasts, noting their focus areas and any notable hosts or recurring themes.
• Listen to a minimum of ten podcast episodes, ensuring that at least three different quilting topics are covered (such as quilt history, techniques, or interviews with prominent quilters).
• Write brief summaries for each episode, highlighting key points, new techniques learned, and any interesting stories or anecdotes.
• Reflect on how digital media like podcasts can enhance a quilter’s knowledge and community engagement.
• Bonus: Recommend at least one episode to other members of the troop, explaining why it was impactful and what they can learn from it.
