If you’ve been around here for a while, you know this community has always been about more than just making quilts.
It’s been about trying something new even when it feels a little intimidating. It’s been about finding your people. It’s been about making things that are meant to be used, loved, and taken out into the world.
And over time, Quilt Scouts grew into something even bigger than I ever imagined.
Which is why today, I’m sharing something new.
A quick look back
Quilt Scouts started as a simple idea: make quilting feel more approachable, more adventurous, and a lot more fun.
Badges gave us a reason to try new skills. Projects gave us something to work toward. And this community—you—turned it into something truly special.
Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just a concept and became a place people could belong.
Why the change
As this community has grown, I ran into a trademark conflict with existing organizations using similar language. Rather than continue down that path, I made the decision to rebrand in a way that gives us more room to grow and protects the future of everything we’re building here.
Everything has been handled, and I feel really good about where we’ve landed.
And honestly… it ended up being the nudge I didn’t know I needed.
Introducing… Quiltbound
Quilt Scouts is becoming Quiltbound.

What “Quiltbound” means
The name Quiltbound is a little play on words—like eastbound or westbound—because you’re always headed somewhere, even if you don’t have the whole route mapped out yet.
You’re not lost. You’re quiltbound.
It’s a reminder that your creative journey doesn’t have to be perfectly planned to be meaningful.
Around here, we take the scenic route. We try new techniques just to see what happens. We follow the spark of an idea instead of forcing a perfect outcome. We let the process be part of the adventure.
Quiltbound is about curiosity, exploration, and making things you love—without pressure to get it “right.”
What’s staying the same
While the name is changing, the heart of this community is not.
- The membership experience is staying the same
- The badges aren’t going anywhere
- Base Camps will continue to bring people together locally
- The community (and all your posts, projects, and connections) remains right where it is
This isn’t a reset. It’s an evolution.

What’s changing
With the new name, you’ll start to see a few updates:
- A new visual identity and brand vibe
- A completely redesigned website
- Updated terminology (shared soon in a simple guide)
- Everything is being refreshed to better support where we’re headed next.

What’s coming next
This next chapter comes with some really fun additions:
- New merch (patches, stickers, apparel 👀)
- A more streamlined and supportive website experience
- A refreshed Circle space with updated colors and organization (same content, just a little glow-up)
There’s a lot to look forward to—and I can’t wait to share more with you.
A note to this community
This part matters the most. Quiltbound isn’t just a new name. it’s a reflection of what this community has already become. You’ve shaped this. You’ve shown up. You’ve made it what it is. And I’m so grateful to be building this alongside you.
Come along for the next chapterWe officially relaunch on June 1, and I’d love for you to be part of it.
If you’re already here… thank you for being part of this journey. If you’re new, welcome. You picked a pretty exciting time to join. Because around here, we’re not rushing to the finish line. We’re taking the scenic route. And we’re making something meaningful along the way. 💛
